Jennifer Betit Yen, also known as Vix, the greatly feared
assassin, manages to showcase her karate and boxing skills, wield a katana,
engage in some knife throwing, and even shoot a few rounds of bullets all in one
film (the fabulous 'Stalemates'). Jen, a native of New York, trained in acting
at Cornell University and documentary filmmaking at the University of
Wollongong, in Wollongong, Australia.
Jen's performance art has ranged from working as a newscaster for an FM radio
station in upstate New York to performing voiceover work for various websites
and animated characters; and from performing Shakespeare on the stage ('Hero' in
'Much Ado About Nothing' and 'Celia' in 'As You Like It') to a deadly killer on
film.
A relative newcomer to the Boston film scene, Jen has been cast in eight New
England-based films during the past eight months that she has been pursuing film
performance opportunities in the area. A Roscoe Productions film in which Jen
played the concerned and frustrated wife of an insomniac slowly becoming
delusional, "Shut Eye," screened at the New England End of Summer Film Festival
in August 2004, as did a Midnight Chimes Production, "BigoTV," in which Jen was
also cast.
You can catch some of Jen's voiceover work on http://www.luxormedia.com/ and
some of her photos on http://www.clairephoto.com/ and in one of L.L. Bean's
summer 2005 catalogues. Also, keep an eye out for Jen on screen again when the
much-anticipated 'Stalemates' screens, as well as in the upcoming White Pongo
Production's 'Welcome to the Family.'
In her spare time, Jen volunteers for BookPALS, reading stories aloud to
children; runs; boxes; and skis. She thanks her friends and family for all
their love and support.
